Maryborough is a quaint and fascinating town offering Georgian & Victorian architecture in mèlange with classic Queenslanders, the best theatre on the Coast, a lively historical convict and settlers’ quarter, a terrific heritage walk and some damn fine whittles and wines along the way.

Maryborough lies alongside the muddy and meandering Mary River, which winds and bends around the City of Maryborough, defining the Portside precinct.

Portside is the city’s newest and oldest visitor destination. It’s the site of the original Port of Maryborough.

With such a rich history, Marborough is recognised throughout the world as a research centre. The Heritage Centre is located in a grand old building built in 1878 in Richmond Street.
